From Here On Food Hall opens with all-local food businesses
In June 2022, the Old Post Office welcomed a brand-new food hall from 16" On Center, the group behind the Revival Food Hall in the Loop.
The Food Hall is the cornerstone of the thriving community inside the building.
It is located in the first-floor lobby off of Van Buren, with views of the Chicago River.
All of the merchants at From Here On will be regional, just like Revival.
These businesses include the sandwich and charcuterie shop Tempesta, the Familiar Bakery, Hot Chi Chicken, and numerous others.
The Food Hall shows that the city of Chicago offers a delightfully diverse food scene, with many different cuisines that the Windy City can offer to residents and tourists alike.
From Here On is large enough to contain all of these local food stalls offering various cuisines.
The 18,000-square-foot area has a cocktail bar called Snorklebox in the middle that takes its name from the street boxes where mail is left.
Additionally, the 26,000-square-foot patio, which is accessible from the Riverwalk, gives guests a glimpse of the river below.

And the most important good news is Chicago Old Post Office’s 95% lease occupancy.
As we mentioned in our first article about the Chicago Old Post Office, Walgreens, Home Chef, PepsiCo, Ferrara Candy, Uber, Cisco, The Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Chicago, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, Abelson Taylor, and Cboe Global Markets are some of the companies that work in the building.
And now news agencies, manufacturing, and tech companies move in.
The Chicago Old Post Office’s new tenants include the Chicago Sun-Times, WBEZ, ShopperTrak, VillageMD, and Milwaukee Tool.
The Chicago Sun-Times and its partner WBEZ are joining corporate Chicago at the Old Post Office, where they will set up an office that caters to the needs of hybrid work and the difficulties facing the media industry.
The retail analytics firm ShopperTrak will lease more than 28,000 square feet on the fourth and fifth floors. They are moving to the Chicago Old Post Office from the 41st floor of the Willis Tower.
VillageMD would also rent more than 50,000 square feet in the building. This healthcare provider plans 48,000 square feet of office space and another 4,500 square feet on the first floor for retail, including a primary care clinic.
The pioneering jobsite solutions maker Milwaukee Tool, through the construction firm Skender, completed their engineering design and innovation space in Chicago’s Old Post Office on the first week of May 2022.
This is a 70,000-square-foot space on the third floor of the south building, with 10,000 square feet of research and development lab space and 60,000 square feet of open and private offices.
It also includes a large collaboration space called the Beehive, a training room, and multiple medium-sized conference rooms.
The lab space is for Milwaukee’s engineers to develop innovative ways to solve problems that make the brand’s end users safer and more productive.
It has a sound-controlled testing room for use-cycle testing on batteries and power tools, and thermochambers for longevity and lifecycle testing.
